Report a comment

Report a comment that makes false accusations, is unlawful, contains personal information or breaks our rules. Choose the reason and the comment below, then send us the pre-filled email from your own email app.

Canadian law can hold a website responsible for a user's comment if the website does not act on a complaint. That is why we review every complaint and reply to every report by email. We aim to decide within 48 hours, weekends included, and we remove comments that contain a private individual's personal information, threats or false accusations against a private person's number.

Why are you reporting this comment?
Write the report email

Your email app will open a message to contact@canadaphonecheck.com with the details filled in. Explain the problem, add your full name, check the statement at the end and send it.

Email app did not open?

Send an email to contact@canadaphonecheck.com and include:

  • the address of the page and which comment you mean (author and date, or a quote)
  • the reason, what the comment says or implies, and which parts are untrue or unlawful and why
  • your full name
  • a statement that the report is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge and sent in good faith

Copyright complaints (Copyright Act)

If you believe a comment copies your copyrighted work without permission, send a written notice to contact@canadaphonecheck.com that includes:

  • your name and address,
  • a statement of your interest in the copyrighted work and identification of the work,
  • the claimed infringement,
  • the address of the page and the comment you want removed (the location data),
  • the date and time of the alleged infringement.

This is the notice-and-notice system of the Canadian Copyright Act. Comments are posted without accounts, so we usually cannot forward a notice to the person who wrote the comment; if that is the case, we tell you why. We review every notice and remove comments that infringe copyright. A notice that is missing these elements may not be acted on.
